CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life) - Non-profit organization Community Link is set to launch its Free Tax Prep CLT program on Monday, February 3, offering no-cost tax preparation services to households earning $67,000 or less. This initiative aims to ease the financial burden of tax filing while ensuring eligible taxpayers receive the maximum refund possible.

Community Link coordinates Free Tax Prep CLT at its Uptown location (601 East 5th Street, Charlotte) and across seven partner sites. The program is powered by trained volunteers who are well-versed in IRS tax guidelines and specialize in optimizing returns.

A key focus of the program is educating taxpayers on the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), a crucial benefit for low- to moderate-income workers and families. This credit can significantly boost refunds and provide much-needed financial relief.

Free Tax Prep CLT Service Details:

  • Location: Community Link, 601 East 5th Street, Charlotte

  • Hours: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM

  • First come, first served basis—no appointment necessary.
