Ms. Jackson has been a school bus driver for years. She loves her job, she loves interacting with the kids, and takes her job seriously. She and her husband purchased a home with the intention to pay off the mortgage and pass the house down to their children. Unfortunately, in 2017, her husband passed away and was immersed in grief. She lost her life partner, and she lost her financial stability.

When COVID hit, Ms. Jackson lost her job. After the government-sponsored COVID financial relief ended, Ms. Jackson was in a difficult situation: “I reached out to [Community Link] for foreclosure prevention- to get my mortgage modified. COVID came and it was just a lot. I was going through a lot of job loss and changes.. I just needed something permanent and some stability.”

Our staff worked with the lender and Ms. Jackson to modify her mortgage and come up with a budget plan to keep her on track. We were able to prevent foreclosure prevention for Ms. Jackson so she could stay in the home that she loves: “I’m just so thankful with Community Link.. it’s been a relief to get a chance and modify my mortgage. I can pay it early and keep up with the monthly payments. I advise anyone to use Community Link.. it’s been a blessing.”
