Free Tax Prep CLT is a volunteer-supported program organized by Community Link. We utilize IRS training materials to ensure that volunteers are trained to maximize tax income returns for low-to-moderate income households in Charlotte.

Volunteers were able to prepare 2,035 tax returns for the 2023 tax season!

This is a 25% increase compared to last year. The total refund amount was $1,973,682.. this money returns back into the local economy and impacts the community- the economic impact is $13,815,774 for Charlotte.

We need volunteers like you! Become a Greeter (we will train you).

Complete the form below to sign up for training. Tax appointments begin February 2025. We expect trained individuals to volunteer at least two shifts per month during the three-month tax season.

This opportunity is limited to volunteers in the Charlotte metro area. All sessions are held in person at Community Link (601 E. 5th Street) in Charlotte, NC.

Greeter training is a half day course (Dec. 7th OR Jan. 4th).
