Our VITA volunteers prepped 2,035 tax returns this season!
Every year VITA Volunteers support low-to-moderate income households by preparing their tax returns and maximizing their returns for free.
VITA was a HUGE success this year! Out staff organized 7 volunteer sites across Mecklenburg to offer free tax preparation for low-to-moderate income households. Volunteers prepared 2,035 returns with a total refund amount of $1,973,682. The calculated impact for the local economy and community is $13,815,774. That's a 25% increase from last year. Huge Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) success for the 2023 tax season.
