Andrea and Luis came to the US from Venezuela twelve years ago, and have lived in Charlotte for eight years. They’ve worked hard to build a life for themselves. Luis works in a factory, and Andrea has a small house cleaning business.
With long hours and careful saving the couple had been able to purchase a home in Charlotte for themselves and their two daughters. Then a letter arrived from Community Link offering help. At first they were skeptical, but with their daughter’s help they checked it out, and confirmed that Community Link is a HUD approved housing counseling agency.
The couple met with Ana, one of Community Link’s bilingual housing counselors.
